During the period in question a Humber car was purchased for the use of the Taoiseach and was later replaced by a Packard. Dodge cars were purchased for the use of the Tánaiste and the Minister for Agriculture and later replaced by, respectively, another Dodge and a Chrysler car. The Humber and the Packard were limousines, the Dodges and Chryslers saloons.
