The total number of persons on the live register at 3rd January, 1959 was 77,962. This is the latest date for which the information is available. The number on the live register at the local offices situated in Dublin City and County was 18,842 and of these the numbers registered at each employment exchange were:— Gardiner Street, 6,563, Northumberland House, 2,386, Victoria Street, 1,716, Werburgh Street, 6,732, Dún Laoghaire, 1,100, and Balbriggan branch employment office, 345.
