Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Home Assistance.

14.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state (a) the average number of home assistance cases for 1958, and (b) the number of Home Assistance Officers in the County Boroughs of Dublin, Cork, Waterford and Limerick.

The County Boroughs of Dublin, Cork and Waterford form only part of the public assistance districts in which they are situated, and separate figures of home assistance recipients for the County Borough areas are not compiled.

The required information in relation to the four public assistance districts concerned is as follows:—

Dublin: 5,027 cases and 28 Assistance Officers; Cork (South): 1,417 cases and 19 Assistance Officers; Waterford: 972 cases and 10 Assistance Officers; Limerick: 243 cases and 1 Assistance Officer.
