Mr. McQuillan

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the quantity and value of whiskey exports to each country in each of the financial years ended 31st March, 1952 to 31st March, 1959, and the totals for each year.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing for the periods in question the quantity and value of domestic exports of whiskey distinguishing countries of destination. The figures for the year 1958-59 refer to the period 1st April, 1958 to 28th February, 1959, the latest date for which figures are available.

Following is the statement:—
