The figures for the total labour force and for the numbers at work in the main branches of economic activity given in Table I of the "Trend of Employment and Unemployment in 1958" are the latest available and relate to April, 1958. Corresponding particulars for April, 1959, cannot be compiled until the various statistical series covering employment in 1959 are complete. In the case of some of these series figures relating to employment in 1959 will not be available until the early months of 1960.
