Vol. 177 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Commission on Income Taxation.

10.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of the Commission on Income Taxation (a) the date on which it was appointed, (b) the number of reports which it submitted to him, (c) the dates on which such reports were submitted, (d) the dates or probable dates of the publication of the reports, and (e) the number of meetings held since it was established.

The Commission on Income Taxation was set up by Warrant of Appointment on 18th February, 1957. The Commission has submitted two reports. One was presented to me on 2nd January, 1959, and was published on 3rd April, 1959; the other was presented to me on 22nd June, 1959, and was published on 22nd October, 1959. Both Reports were published as soon as printed.

I understand that there have been 82 meetings of the Commission since it was appointed and that, in addition, there have been about 20 meetings of committees.
