It is anticipated that the new runway which is being provided at Shannon Airport for the accommodation of jet aircraft will be completed and ready for use not later than the contract completion date of 2nd August, 1960. Every effort is being made to have the runway ready before that date but it will be appreciated that circumstances, such as weather conditions, may make earlier completion impossible.
