asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of the period from 1st April, 1959 to the latest available date the customs revenue received from (1) mineral hydrocarbon light oil (2) hydrocarbon oil, other sorts (3) brandy (4) rum (5) geneva (6) other sorts of spirits (7) tobacco (8) wine (9) beer (10) cinematograph films (11) clothing and apparel (12) motor cars, parts, etc. (13) unprinted paper (14) sugar articles (15) wireless telegraphy apparatus (16) parcel post and (17) other heads of customs duty.

As the answer is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

(a) Tobacco—in addition to the amount shown there was a sum of £650,000 approximately standing deferred at the end of January, 1960 under the terms of Section 11 of the Finance Act, 1959.

(b) The duty on cinematograph films was revoked as from 24th April, 1958.
