As stated on 4th November, 1959, in reply to a similar question by the Deputy, it is anticipated that the new jet runway will be completed and ready for use not later than the contract completion date of 2nd August, 1960. All possible action, including the operation of shift-working, is being taken to have the runway completed at the earliest possible date.
