Vol. 179 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Walker Estate (Offaly) Road.

81.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that a Land Commission road at Clonbrin, Rathangan, County Offaly, on the Walker Estate is in a very bad state of repair; if he has any record of any undertaking from Offaly County Council to maintain this road when completed by the Land Commission; and what the position is in regard to the matter.

Land Commission work on this road was completed in September, 1950, at a cost of more than £2,500. There is no record of an undertaking by Offaly County Council to maintain the road but it is open to owners of lands traversed by the road to apply to that body to have it taken over. In the event of the county council deciding to do so, the Land Commission will raise no objection.
