A Supplementary Estimate will shortly be introduced to cover the estimated expenditure in the current financial year. When the Estimate is passed, details of the scheme and application forms will be issued to county, county borough, borough and urban district councils who may then submit their proposals under the scheme. It is intended that grant applications by private persons and bodies such as local development associations will be submitted to the local authorities and, if approved, will be forwarded by them to my Department.
May I take it that this Supplementary Estimate is likely to be produced before Christmas?
