Vol. 185 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kildare Factories.

29.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state in respect of the four factories established in County Kildare with the aid of foreign capital and tecnicians the exact place at which each factory was established, the nature of the goods produced and the amount of employment given at the latest available date, distinguishing between male and female employment.

Of the four industries mentioned in the Deputy's Question, two were established at Naas, one at Johnstown and the fourth at Kilcock, to engage, respectively, in the production of industrial protective clothing, the finishing of spun rayon suitings, the sorting, grading and packing of feathers, and the manufacture of ball-gum. I am not in a position to disclose any information about the employment involved in individual industries.
