Vol. 185 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Termon (Donegal) School.

38.

asked the Minister for Education the present position with reference to the erection of a new school at Termon, County Donegal.

The Commissioners of Public Works having recommended that the site offered for a new school at Termon, Co. Donegal might be accepted as suitable for the purpose, sketch plans for a school having accommodation for 112 pupils were prepared.

As, however, the enrolment of pupils at the school subsequently showed a downward trend the question of the accommodation to be provided had to be re-examined. It is now considered that a school consisting of two rooms for 80 pupils would meet the future needs of the school district. The Commissioners have been asked to prepare revised sketch plans and an estimate of the cost of erecting a school of this size.
