Vol. 186 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Kerry Piers.

28.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that at low tide the only means by which fishermen at Portmagee and Cahirciveen, County Kerry, can enter or leave their boats is by the aid of a rope hanging over the front of the pier; and if he will have steps provided at each pier to replace the present dangerous and primitive arrangements.

29.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that berthing conditions for fishing boats at Portmagee and Cahirciveen, County Kerry, piers are difficult, and impossible at low tide, because of the accumulation of silt beside and in the proximity of those piers; and if he will have the necessary dredging of the areas carried out so that boats may be anchored in safety beside the piers.
