A claim for improved pay brought by the Garda Side under the Garda conciliation and arbitration scheme was heard by the Arbitration Board in April last. The findings of the Board were accepted in full by the Government and were given effect to by the Garda Síochána Pay Order, 1960, which was made on 12th May, 1960, and provided for the payment of improved pay rates with effect from 1st March, 1960.
