asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that the Garda Station at Manorhamilton, County Leitrim, is in an uninhabitable condition, and that in the town of Manorhamilton there is a house for sale suitable for reconstruction as a station; and, if so, if he will have immediate steps taken to purchase these premises.

Manorhamilton is one of the Garda Stations which have been listed for early replacement.
With a view to the purchase of an existing building for conversion into a Garda Station, the Commissioners of Public Works have inspected five premises in Manorhamilton, but none was considered suitable for the purpose. The Commissioners have informed me that no other likely premises have come to their notice and that they are seeking a site for the erection of a new station.
