asked the Minister for Lands if he will state in respect of the Satchwell Estate, Creggs, County Galway, the date on which the Land Commission decided to take proceedings for the acquisition of the estate, and the date on which it was decided not to acquire it; and if the Land Commission will again consider the propriety of acquiring this estate with a view to its distribution amongst the large number of uneconomic holders in that area.

The Land Commission decided to institute proceedings for acquisition of this estate on 6th January, 1959, but the proceedings terminated on 20th January, 1960, when an objection by the owner was allowed following a public hearing. Fresh proceedings are not at present contemplated.
