Vol. 192 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kilmore Quay (Wexford) Harbour.

78.

asked the Minister for Finance if in view of the condition of the harbour at Kilmore Quay, County Wexford, he will state what proposals there are to carry out the necessary improvements there to enable fishing boats to use the harbour at all necessary times.

It has been decided by agreement with the Wexford County Council to carry out a model investigation to resolve the difficulties associated with improvement of this harbour and to design a scheme to achieve the best results. Arrangements for the carrying out of this investigation are in hands.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say when this agreement was made? It must be 12 months ago.

It is not actually 12 months ago. The question of the model is under way at Trinity College. The advice we received from the Swedish expert was that was the best method of carrying out the work.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary bear in mind that there is urgency about this matter and see what he can do about it?
