Vol. 192 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Extension of Burtonport (Donegal) Pier.

132.

Mr. O'Donnell

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of the urgent necessity for the extension of the pier at Burtonport, County Donegal; and, if so, if he will have such extension carried out as soon as possible.

I am advised that extension of the pier at Burtonport would involve expenditure of a very high order which would not be warranted in present circumstances. As an alternative, the dredging of increased mooring space in the harbour has been proposed and engineering advice in the matter is awaited.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary tell us how much fish was caught there last year?

That is a separate question.

That is another question.

Perhaps the Deputy——

The Minister for Health ought to shut up. He made a hash of the doctors.

I suggest it is a matter for the Deputy and Deputy O'Donnell.

Not for me.

The Parliamentary Secretary is paid for that now.
