asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the method of preparation of the postal voters list for the members of the Garda Síochána is most unsatisfactory for candidates inasmuch as candidates have no method of ascertaining the address of the voter if he has been transferred since the Register was completed; and if he will accordingly provide that in future arrangements will be made for official notification of change of address to be given to the Returning Officers and to the Agents of Candidates concerned.

After the election, I raised this matter with the Garda authorities and, as a result, I expect to be able to make some arrangements for bringing the list up to date immediately before an election.
