Vol. 192 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pig Prices: Kerry Farmers' Losses

12.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that farmers in North Kerry are suffering severe losses at the moment by reason of the depression in the pig industry; and whether he will have the matter reviewed to see whether any improvement can be effected by adjustment of the existing statutory prices or otherwise.

The answer to the first part of the Question is No. The pig industry is not depressed and remedial action as suggested by the Deputy is not called for.
