Vol. 193 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Parish Agents.

27.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will take immediate steps to fill the vacancies for parish agents in the County of Donegal.

28.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that vacancies exist at Donegal Town, Moville, Carndonagh and Burnfoot, all in the County of Donegal, for parish agricultural advisory agents who also deal with Gaeltacht grazing plots for the Department of the Gaeltacht; and, if so, if he will take immediate steps to have these vacancies filled.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to reply to Questions Nos. 27 and 28 together.

Arrangements are at present being made for holding an open Civil Service Commission competition to fill vacancies in County Donegal and elsewhere for Agricultural Officer, Grade 7, formerly designated parish agricultural advisory agent. Duties in the vacant sub-districts are at present being attended to by officers of neighbouring sub-districts.
