I have recently informed the County Mayo Committee of Agriculture that because of the demands for the services of veterinary surgeons in other areas, particularly in connection with the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Scheme, it is not an appropriate time to endeavour to induce a veterinary surgeon to reside in the Erris area even with a reasonably generous State subvention; but that I would review the position when circumstances are more favourable.
