The statistics that are available relate to all motor-vehicles, and not to motor-cars alone.
The number of larcenies of motor-vehicles in the year ended 30th September, 1961, was 22 in the Dublin Metropolitan Division and 25 in the rest of the country.
Statistics of the number of stolen vehicles recovered are not compiled and their compilation at this stage would involve a great deal of clerical work which I do not think could be justified.
