Approval in principle has been conveyed to the erection of a bridge between Valentia and the mainland on the site proposed by the Kerry County Council. A conference is being arranged between the engineering advisers of the Department and of the council to discuss the detailed planning of the project.
I am not at present in a position to say when the work will begin.
