I have furnished in relation to a question of 14th March, 1962, from the Deputy information in regard to the scholarships tenable in secondary schools and in the Universities awarded by Local Authorities in each of the years 1957 to 1961. The provisional figure of 121 given on that occasion for scholarships tenable in the Universities awarded in 1961 should now be amended to a definitive figure of 120. The provisions of certain of the scholarship schemes restricted the tenure of 64 of these scholarships to constituent colleges of the National University of Ireland.
