The same form of application is used for Minor Employment Schemes and Bog Development Schemes and a separate record is not kept of the number of such forms received. Invariably, more than one application is received in respect of the same work. All applications are, therefore, filed by the townland in which the work is situated and not by the names of the applicants. The numbers of applications for new works under Minor Employment Schemes and Bog Development Schemes are recorded and were in County Mayo 97 in 1959/60, 147 in 1960/61 and 163 in 1961/62. In the same years, the number of schemes sanctioned in County Mayo was 282, 320 and 367 respectively.
