Vol. 196 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois-Offaly Road Repairs.

9.

asked the Minister for Finance the date on which he received a certificate of completion of work for the worst sections of the accommodation and bog road from the end of the county road at Mr. Isaac Hazlem's entrance gate north-east to Birch Tree's bog at Upper Forest, Mountmellick, County Laois; if he is aware of the large number of users of this important road and the amount of turf transported thereon; if a further grant will be made available in respect of it; and if he will state the amount already expended on wages and materials in regard to this work.

10.

asked the Minister for Finance the date on which work was completed and the amount of the grant spent on the repair of the worst sections of the accommodation and bog road from the county road at Mrs. Guinan's house north-east by Mr. Martin Maleney's house to Mr. William K. Dunican's bog gate at Glebe, Moyclare, Belmont, County Offaly; the amount spent on wages and materials on this work; and if it is proposed to make a further grant available for further works on these roads in the coming year.

11.

asked the Minister for Finance the amount of the grant which he made available for patch repair work on the worst sections of the bog road from Tullamore-Killeigh county road west to Mr. Vincent Casey's bog at Cloncon, Tullamore, County Offaly; the date on which work was last carried out in this road; and if a further application is under consideration for more money to be expended this year.

12.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will make a grant available to repair the worst sections of the existing bog roads from Harrow lane south-west to Ringstown bog and to the branch roads associated with this bog road at Ringstown, Ballyfin, Mountrath, County Laois; and if he will have work carried out on this important proposal without delay.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Question Nos. 9 to 12 together.

The certificate of completion for work in Question No. 9 was received on 27 January, 1962. The amount expended on wages and materials was £43 and £27, respectively.

The work in Question No. 10 was completed on 23 January, 1962. The expenditure on wages and materials was £118 and £46, respectively.

The date on which work was last carried out on the road in Question No. 11 was 16 December, 1961.

For the other parts of the Question I would refer the Deputy to the written reply given yesterday to the Questions by Deputy N. Egan, Deputy K.P. Egan and Deputy Lalor.

In view of the fact that the reply to which the Parliamentary Secretary refers is a reply to written Questions which were not asked in the House, and in view of the fact that it will not be published until next week, is he now in a position to state what the reply was?

He will answer it next week because I will put it down again.
