In accordance with Rules of Procedure (Defence Forces), 1954 (Statutory Instrument No. 243 of 1954) only the Court of Inquiry itself may vary its findings and then only when re-assembled by the convening authority for the purpose of reviewing its findings. There is no obligation on the convening authority or higher authority to accept the findings.
