The immediate plans provide for the erection of one new Garda station in Waterford City to replace the existing station at Adelphi Quay, and five new stations in the county. Sketch plans for the new city station, which will be built in the grounds of the former prison, are in course of preparation. The Commissioners of Public Works are seeking sites for stations at Aglish, Ardmore, Cappagh, Lismore and Tramore. It is also planned to erect new stations at Ballyduff, Cappoquin and Passage East if the Divisional Architects regard works of renovation at these centres as uneconomical.
