While it is possible at any time to give the number of registered aliens in respect of a current date, figures can be given retrospectively only in respect of dates in relation to which a special record has been made. Accordingly, while the figure 3,260 in respect of 21st June, 1962, was given in a reply last week, the figures available in respect of previous years relate to 31st December. These figures are given in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated in the Official Report.
