One of the functions of Irish representatives abroad is to help in any way possible Irish citizens in difficulties. The representatives do not offer legal advice themselves nor do they arrange for free legal aid at the expense of the Irish Government. If requested, however, by the citizen concerned they recommend a suitable lawyer.
