Under Section 6 of the Tourist Traffic Act 1955 the publication of tourist literature is a function of Bord Fáilte.
Bord Fáilte inform me that information about places of historical interest is contained in a number of their publications, for example, the "Ireland" Guide and the County Guides. The matter has also been the subject of consultations between Bord Fáilte and the Office of Public Works who are considering the publication of a new Guide to the National Monuments in the State. In this connection, I would refer the Deputy to the reply given on 7th June last by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance to a question on this subject.
