Statutory records for the period prior to 1st August, 1961, are not available. I have given the Deputy, by way of reply to another question put down by him for answer to-day, particulars of relevant transactions since 1st August, 1961, recorded by the Land Commission under the procedure authorised by Sections 33, 34 and 35 of the Finance Act, 1961. It is not possible, however, to state the acreage owned by non-nationals at any particular time. The Deputy will no doubt appreciate that such statistics would in common with the position in relation to land generally, be subject to fluctuation arising from such factors as resales, deaths, changes in citizenship status, etc.
