The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. The situation in regard to the Weights and Measures Acts is, however, being kept under review and, if necessary, amending legislation will be introduced.
I presume that the metric system referred to in the second part of the question is the metric system of weights and measures. The question of adopting that system was considered by a Committee of Inquiry which submitted its report some years ago. This is, however, a very complicated problem and the Government have decided that no action should be taken for the present but that the position should be kept under review.
