Vol. 199 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Heating of Cork Employment Exchange.

36.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he has received any complaint that the heating arrangements at Cork employment exchange are inadequate, both from the point of view of staff and of members of the public using the premises.

I have not received any complaint from members of the public that the heating arrangements at Cork employment exchange are inadequate. I understand, however, that during the exceptionally severe spell of weather in January some members of the staff made representations to the manager of the exchange concerning the inadequacy of the heating in part of the building; the complaint was not related to the public offices of the exchange. In the light of the representations made to him, the manager arranged to have the heating in the part of the building complained about augmented by the provision of electric fires.
