asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give an up-to-date list of local authorities who have adopted Part III of the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1956, or the Act of 1948, having regard to the Mental Treatment Act, 1961, the date of adoption in each case, and the local authorities, especially Town Commissioners, who have not adopted the Superannuation Acts.

The information available in my Department indicates that the undermentioned local authorities adopted Part III of the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1948, or Part III of the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1956. Where available the operative dates are shown. Part III of the 1956 Act came into operation in relation to all mental hospital authorities with effect from 1st April, 1961. Information regarding the remaining local authorities and the operative dates not only available is being sought and will be forwarded to the Deputy.
