Vol. 202 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dáil Debates.

11.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of the special arrangements referred to by him in a reply of 7th March last which ensure that Members receive copies of the Dáil debates as soon as possible; and why any similar arrangements are not made to ensure that the Government Publications Sale Office receive, and make available for sale, debates on the same days as they are received by Members.

12.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance the number of days which normally elapse between the time Members receive Dáil debates and the time they are made available for sale at the Government Publications Sale Office; and if he will take steps to reduce the delay in making the debates available for sale.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 11 and 12 together.

The printers deliver an advance supply of Dáil Debates direct to the Dáil Office on the second day after the debate or occasionally post copies direct to Deputies that night. The printers also deliver 30 copies direct to the Government Publications Sale Office on the second day after the debate; occasionally it may be the third day.

Dáil Debates on Fridays are an exception: deliveries are not effected to the Dáil Office or the Sale Office until the following Tuesday.
