asked the Minister for Finance why applications under the Rural Improvements Scheme in Kildare lodged more than six months ago, and even last May, have not yet been inspected; what townlands and electoral divisions are involved; and when offers will issue in these cases.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kildare Rural Improvements Scheme.
The delay has been caused by a shortage of inspectors. It has now become possible, however, to assign an officer to deal with the outstanding applications in Kildare and the nearby counties, and it is expected that reports on the older cases will be available in the course of the next month. Thereafter there will be no avoidable delay in issuing offers of grants in the approved cases. The names of the townlands and electoral divisions in the cases not yet inspected are set out in a tabular statement which I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report.
Following is the statement:—
