The delay in this case is due to the fact that the original file (containing the original application and the report of an inspection which was carried out in May, 1962) was lost. This came to notice in February last and arrangements were then made to carry out a fresh inspection and to obtain further information from the applicant. As the applicant had previously obtained a new house grant further inquiries were necessary, in order to establish her entitlement to an additional grant. These inquiries have now been completed.
Arrangements are being made for early payment of the appropriate grant.
