asked the Taoiseach if he will state in respect of each of the years 1957 to 1962 inclusive the number of (a) adult males, (b) adult females, (c) juvenile males and (d) juvenile females employed in transportable goods industries.

With your permission, Sir, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the particulars requested in respect of October, 1957 to October, 1960 inclusive. Corresponding figures for 1961 and 1962 are not yet available.

Following is the statement:—

NUMBER of persons * engaged in transportable goods industries in establishments covered by the Census of Industrial Production at mid-October in each of the years 1957 to 1960.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary indicate whether it is intended to avail of this opportunity to deal with the recent development regarding the butter situation in Britain and consequently ease the levy of one-third of a penny imposed on the milk producers?
