Vol. 204 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Cottages.

36.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is proposed to sanction the proposals of the Dublin County Council to erect cottages at Wyanstown, Belgee, Curragh West, Wyestown, Damastown, Clonmethan, Slievethoul, Ballycoolin and other places, especially as the Council have no building sites on hands in those districts, and as some of the owners on the sites have received offers for the land offered to the County Council.

Proposals for the erection of six unserviced cottages at Wyanstown, Belgee, Curragh West, Wyestown, Damastown and Glonmethan have for the reasons indicated in my reply on 2nd instant to the Deputy's question on the subject, been referred back to the Dublin County Council for reconsideration.

Further details of the proposals to acquire a site for a single cottage at Ballycoolin were requested of the housing authority on 7th May last and are awaited. I am advised that the Slievethoul site is unsuitable for the erection of a cottage and am informing the housing authority accordingly.

With regard to the remaining rural cottage proposals before my Department, I am informing the housing authority of my approval to the plans submitted for a single serviced cottage at Kill-o-the-Grange. Technical comment on a proposal for erection of six potentially serviced cottages at Tibradden will be issued shortly. Proposals to acquire land for a group scheme at Hillview, Cabinteely, and a proposal received on 17th instant for acceptance of a tender for erection of four cottages at Ballynakelly are being examined.
