Vol. 204 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Legal Diary.

61.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice why the list for Circuit Court number eight of 16th July 1963 was not published in the Legal Diary on Friday 12th July 1963.

The omission in question occurred through a clerical error in the circuit court office.

The list in question was, however, published in ten other issues of the Diary appearing from 2nd to 16th July.

62.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that the Legal Diary for Tuesday 16th July last was not delivered to Dublin solicitors' offices until the afternoon of that day; and if, having regard to the inconvenience and loss caused thereby, he will make a statement in the matter.

Delay in the delivery of the copies of the Legal Diary for 16th July to solicitors' offices occurred through faulty operation of the posting arrangements on the previous evening, with the result that posting did not take place until the morning of the 16th. I am assured that measures have been taken to prevent this occurring again.

"Faulty operation in the delivery through the post" would be better.

The wording of my answer is quite deliberate "...occurred through faulty operation of the posting arrangements."
