Vol. 205 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Tipperary Compulsory Purchase Orders.

31.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Local Government (a) the number of compulsory purchase orders submitted to Tipperary (SR) County Council during the past twelve months, (b) the date on which each order was submitted, and (c) the date on which each such order was sanctioned or agreed to by him.

Two compulsory purchase orders were received by me for confirmation from Tipperary (SR) County Council since 1st October, 1962. An Order entitled The Tipperary (South Riding) Compulsory Purchase Order, 1963, which relates to the acquisition of land necessary for the purposes of the Dundrum Regional Water Supply Scheme, was received on 4th April, 1963, and on 19th August, 1963, a second Order, entitled The Tipperary (South Riding) Compulsory Purchase (Labourers Acts) No. 1 Order, 1963, which provides for the acquisition of 23 sites for the erection of labourers' cottages, was received. Objections to both orders were received by me, and it will be necessary to hold public local inquiries before the orders can be decided. Arrangements for the holding of the inquiries are at present being made.
