Vol. 205 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Salary Deductions for Rate Payments.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he will consider making the necessary arrangements to enable local authority employees, who so desire, to have regular deductions made from their salaries in payment of local rates on the same lines as the present scheme in relation to income tax payments and life assurance contributions.

It is a matter for the local authorities to determine the extent to which they may facilitate their staffs by making arrangements for payment of commitments, including local rates, by way of regular deductions from remuneration.
