Vol. 206 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford Housing Grants.

67.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that there is grave dissatisfaction in Waterford City and County regarding his Department's inspection of premises for housing reconstruction grants and for grants for new houses.

Complaints affecting about 15 cases in the matter of pricing and measurement of reconstruction works were received from and on behalf of three builders and an architect in Waterford city and were investigated in May, 1963, by a senior inspector of my Department. Minor adjustments in favour of the appellants were made in three cases. In the remaining cases the complaints were regarded as unfounded. Additional complaints recently received, including representations made by the Deputy to an officer of my Department, are being investigated.
