Vol. 206 No. 8

Order of Business.

Business, as set out in the Order Paper, will be taken in the following order: Nos. 1, 5, 14, 15 —Vote 19—6, 7, 8, 15—Votes 41, 41, 30 and 13. It is proposed to take No. 15 (Vote 13) at 7.30 p.m. and, when completed, to resume the order. Private Members' Business will be taken from 6 to 7.30 p.m.

And questions at 3 p.m.

On the Order of Business, with the permission of the Chair, I should like to raise the following matter in view of the fact that the Minister for Local Government refused to accept responsibility for it yesterday. I refer to the grave unemployment and serious hardship to many farmers brought about by the closing down of quarries and the use of up-to-date machinery on road works in County Roscommon and the urgent necessity to provide alternative employment for these workers and small farmers who are being deprived of what hitherto represented an essential and substantial part of their income.

With what Minister does the Deputy propose to raise the matter?

That is a six-marker. I understand it is a matter for the Minister for Finance.

If the Deputy will send a copy to my office. I shall communicate with him.
