Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Milk.

21.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that almost 500 dairy cows have been sold by herd owners in County Dublin during the past number of weeks, owing to the low price per gallon received by milk producers; and if he will take steps to ensure payment of an economic price to milk producers supplying Dublin City and County.

I am not aware that sales of dairy cows are taking place in County Dublin because of dissatisfaction of the herd owners with the current milk prices. I am aware that there are many producers outside the Dublin Sales District who would be only too glad to have the opportunity of selling their milk in Dublin.
