As Deputies are aware, the acreage of sugar beet grown on contract each year is a matter for determination by Comhlucht Siúicre Éireann Teo. I understand that the company have decided to increase the price of beet for next year. This should have a favourable effect on acreage which, this year, was higher by 10,000 than the figure for 1961 and 1962.
