It has been decided to provide for the award of a medal, which will be known as "An Bonn Mileata Dearscna", or in English, "The Distinguished Service Medal", and for which members of Óglaigh na hÉireann (including an tSheirbhís Altranais an Airm) and the Chaplaincy Service will be eligible.
